Information You Submit
Names and Search Details
When you type a name, location, or other term into a search tool, the request passes to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query under its own privacy practices. Woodson County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Emails and Contact Messages
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details you supplied long enough to review and answer it. We do not share a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process. Avoid sending sensitive identifiers that are not needed for your question.
Technical Information Collected Automatically
Routine technical data may be recorded when a browser loads a page. This information helps deliver the site, measure use, and diagnose errors. Depending on the service involved, the collected details may include:
- the internet protocol address associated with the request;
- the browser name, browser version, and basic settings;
- the device category and operating system;
- the pages viewed and the time spent on them;
- the referring page or website, when one is supplied; and
- the date and time of each request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand visits and how features are used. You can block or delete cookies through browser settings. Some functions, preferences, analytics, or advertising may behave differently when cookies are restricted.
Reasons We Use Information
Information is processed only for operating, understanding, and supporting this resource and its connected services. Those purposes include:
- keeping pages available, responsive, and reliable;
- sending a submitted search to the appropriate search partner;
- measuring which Woodson County record pages visitors find useful;
- detecting, investigating, and correcting technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Other Websites and Services
Links may lead to Woodson County Sheriff pages, Woodson Detention Center information, Kansas court records, Kansas Department of Corrections services, parole or probation resources, federal or immigration custody tools, and third-party search providers. Once you follow an outside link, that service's privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control how an external site collects, retains, or uses information.
Advertising providers may use cookies or related technology on their own systems to understand activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking is carried out through the provider's technology, not through a personal record database maintained by Woodson County Released Inmates. Review the provider's controls if you wish to limit personalized advertising.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be sent or disclosed when needed for the site to function, to measure its operation, to support advertising, or to comply with binding legal duties. Potential recipients are:
- search partners that receive and process submitted queries;
- analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance;
- advertising networks that deliver and assess advertisements; and
- law enforcement agencies or other government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Safeguarding Stored Information
We use ordinary administrative and technical measures intended to protect information under our control. Security is a best-effort process. No website, network, storage service, or internet transmission can be guaranteed fully secure or breach-proof, so we cannot promise absolute protection.
Visitors Younger Than 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or minor believes that a young person submitted personal data, contact us and identify the submission. We will review the request and delete information under our control when appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies and the information we hold, you may make the following requests:
- ask for a copy of personal information held about you;
- request correction of information that is inaccurate;
- ask for deletion of information that may be erased; and
- object to or opt out of certain types of processing.
These choices apply to data controlled by this site. A government record held by the Woodson County Sheriff, a Kansas court, KDOC, or another agency must be addressed with that record custodian under its rules. Kansas public-record access is governed in part by the Kansas Open Records Act policy in K.S.A. 45-215, along with applicable access procedures and exemptions.

We may revise this Privacy Notice when practices, services, or legal obligations change. The updated text will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a revision means the current notice applies.
Effective date: July 19, 2026.
